At its most basic, prayer is simply conversation with God. Prayer invites us into relationship with God. Something wonderful about prayer is that no matter where you are at in your spiritual journey, novice or mystic, you can pray.
There is a prayer concern list that is printed each week in the bulletin and those prayer concerns are lifted up in the worship services. Members are encouraged to take home the prayer list and include the petitions in their daily prayers. To submit a prayer request, please fill out a form at worship service or call the office at 847-272-0400.
Caring Friends Ministry lifts members of the congregation up in prayer through acts of caring and friendship. They have a prayer shawl ministry and invite you to join them. Please contact the church office if you would like to request a prayer shawl for someone in the hospital, care facility or going through a difficult time. A pastor is also available for confession and/or prayer. Please contact the church office if you would like someone to pray with you.
The ELCA has a prayer web-site that is thoughtful and full of resources about prayer. If you want to learn more about prayer, different kinds of prayers (meditation, healing, and even Luther’s prayers), or offer a prayer request – this resource may be helpful to you.
