The ELCA is made up of 65 synods. Gloria Dei belongs to the Metropolitan Chicago Synod which has 217 congregations in four counties in Illinois – Cook, DuPage, Kane, and Lake.
Northbrook Clergy Association
The Gloria Dei pastor is in fellowship with the diverse clergy members of Northbrook. Association membership is comprised of leaders from the Jewish, Muslim, Roman Catholic, Protestant and Baha’i traditions. This group meets monthly Sept-May.
EASING – Emergency Assistance in Northbrook and Glenview
EASING is a program administered by Youth Services of Northbrook and Glenview and supported financially by the faith communities of the Northbrook Clergy Association. EASING’s purpose is to provide a wide range of emergency assistance to low income residents and families during times of crisis. The goal is to alleviate a crisis situation and work out long term solutions to provide for a stable future (847) 272-5664.
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans
Through grants and matching gifts, Gloria Dei has partnered with Thrivent to fund projects like the purchase of backpacks and school supplies, and winter coats for low-income families as well as other ministries that impact the people of our community and world.
